Getting ready to Sea-Doo

Riders getting ready for a Sea-Doo Ride

How to prepare for a Sea-Doo adventure

From exploring incredible lakes and rivers to a day island hopping, overnight fishing excursions and day trips off the coast of California, there’s a Sea-Doo adventure out there for everyone. With so many choices, where do you even start to prepare for your ride?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Checkout the list of tips below to make sure you’re fully prepared for fun.

What should I wear for my Sea-Doo adventure?

We know you’re after that tan to make your co-workers jealous, but they won’t care about your sunburn after they’ve seen these pics! The right attire will make your Sea-Doo experience worry-free. Here are a few essentials to consider for any adventure:

  • Sunscreen – Apply early and often! Repeat as necessary throughout the day.
  • Neoprene shorts or Wetsuit that covers your thighs – A must-wear not only for protecting from water intrusion, but for added comfort for your legs while you ride.
  • Coast Guard approved Type I, II or III Personal Flotation Device (PFD) – Another must-wear.
  • Sunglasses – They’re not just for sun! A snug fitting pair of shades will also keep your eyes protected from the wind and water spray. Especially recommended for saltwater adventures.

A few other ideas:

  • Goggles – Recommended for those high-octane adventures or cool weather rides where the wind and the waves might require a little more protection.
  • Gloves – A little extra grip is never a bad thing, and they’ll protect the backs of your hands from wind and sun burn.
  • Water shoes – If you expect to go ashore during your adventure, a comfortable pair of water shoes or riding boots will keep you sure footed on and off the water.

What should I pack for my Sea-Doo adventure?

Aside from attire, you’ll want to grab a few other items to help make the experience one you’ll never forget.

Snacks – Stay energized with a nutritious meal before you go. During the ride, a few granola bars, fruit, or other quick snacks will keep you fueled for adventure.

Water – Hydration is key. Make sure you drink plenty of water beforehand and pack a few bottles for the ride.

More sunscreen – Because looking like a lobster is not on the menu!

Dry bag – You’ll want a safe, dry place for things like phones, keys, wallets and any other important items.

A dry change of clothes – A soggy car ride home is never a good thing.

Your specific Sea-Doo adventure might require a few more items depending on what’s in store. Don’t forget things like fishing gear, beach towels and snorkel gear if that’s what the day calls for.
