Your first day of this incredible guided 5-day Ski-Doo Alaskan adventure begins in Anchorage, continues with lunch atop Mount Alyeska via aerial tramway, and ends with a comfy 4.5 hour van ride to the iconic Sheep Creek Lodge for dinner and to the Backwoods Lodge for a good night’s rest, which you will need for the thrills that lie ahead!
Over the course of the next four days, you’ll Ski-Doo over 90 miles of groomed trails, head deep into the Alaska Range where you’ll explore glaciers and as many ice caves as your experienced guide can find. You will ride through pristine valleys, cross over frozen lakes and rivers and up mountain passes, and maybe – just maybe! – you’ll see one of nature’s most beautiful, life-changing shows – the Northern Lights. And you might also come across a moose or two. Your tour ends with some well-earned relaxation time at the Alpine Creek Lodge and a farewell dinner back in Anchorage.
10am pick-up in Anchorage on a Sunday and transport you to our Girdwood office to outfit you with all of your trail riding gear. Then a 4.5-hour drive to the trailhead. On the way, you will stop for dinner at the Sheep Creek Lodge and arrive at your final destination, the Backwoods Lodge, around 8pm for the night.
On Monday you'll ride 90 miles of scenic groomed trail all the way to the Maclaren River Lodge – a great way to get comfortable on your Ski-Doo before pushing into more challenging terrain.
Tuesday, you will head into the mighty Alaska Range and explore not one but two glaciers, stopping to explore ice caves before continuing to Alpine Creek Lodge.
On Wednesday, we’ll explore a remote valley and loop around rugged mountains and through mountain passes before returning to Alpine Creek Lodge for the evening. You'll sleep in on your last day and enjoy the lodge amenities. Then you'll ride out to the trailhead and make our way back to Anchorage for dinner.
